The dream realm is the spirit realm. This is not poetic language — it is literal. When your body sleeps, your spirit does not. Your spirit is awake, and it is accessible. Both God and the enemy know this.

God has always spoken through dreams. Joseph received his destiny through dreams. Daniel interpreted the dreams of kings. Solomon received wisdom through a dream. Job was warned through dreams. Every critical turn in the earthly life of Jesus was navigated by His father Joseph through dreams.

But the enemy uses the dream realm too. A person operating in witchcraft will pray over your name, your photo, something connected to you — make a sacrifice at an evil altar — and dispatch a spirit to visit your spirit man while you sleep. That spirit’s assignment is to get you to come into agreement with something: fear, limitation, defeat, sexual sin, confusion about your identity or your calling.

The 7 Dream Patterns That Signal Attack

These are not universal dream interpretations. These are specific patterns observed across years of warfare ministry that consistently correspond to coordinated spiritual attack:

• Signal 1Being chased or hunted — A spirit of intimidation and fear has been specifically assigned against you. The chase is the assignment.
• Signal 2Police, handcuffs, restriction, or jail — A spirit of entrapment or limitation is at work, attempting to restrict your movement and your freedom in the spirit.
• Signal 3Being driven by someone with no visible face — Someone else is attempting to steer your destiny. This is a direct spiritual attack on your assignment.
• Signal 4Being stabbed, shot, or physically attacked — Direct spiritual opposition from an altar. The violence in the dream reflects the nature of the assignment dispatched against you.
• Signal 5Receiving eggs or unusual objects from someone — Evil seeds being planted for future manifestation. What was received in the dream creates a legal access point in your waking life.
• Signal 6Someone giving you keys — Another person is being positioned to hold keys to your progress. This is a spiritual transfer of access and authority over your life.
• Signal 7Animal bites — snakes, dogs, wild cats — A predatory spiritual assignment targeting you. The animal is the familiar spirit. The bite is the point of transfer.

Also watch for: dreams where you eat or drink with someone you are uncertain about, dreams where someone dresses you, sexual dreams involving specific people, and dreams where you obey a voice you cannot identify. These all constitute dream covenants — agreements entered into while you slept that carry real legal weight in the spirit realm until they are specifically broken.

The Agreement That Happens While You Sleep

The enemy does not need you to understand what is happening in the dream. He just needs the action. An action taken in the dream — eating with someone, receiving an object, obeying an instruction — creates a legal access point. You wake up not knowing why you feel different, why things have shifted, why you feel heavier or less certain. The agreement happened while you were asleep.

This is why Matthew 13:25 is not primarily about literal sleep. It is about the enemy’s access to your spirit man when your natural defenses are lowered and your mind is not mediating between you and the spiritual world.

What to Do the Moment You Wake

Do not go back to sleep without addressing it. Do not shake it off as just a dream. The dream may have been an incantation — a scenario designed to get you to act in agreement with it. The moment you are awake is the moment to pray.
