The enemy does not wait until you are old enough to fight back before he comes for you. That is one of the first things I had to understand about my own life. He comes early — as early as possible — because the wounds that go in deepest are the ones inflicted when you have no framework, no language, and no one to tell. My mother told me that the day I was born, she felt something like an elephant standing on her chest — a crushing spiritual weight pressing down on both of us as I came into the world. She did not have the vocabulary for spiritual warfare at the time. But she knew something was wrong. Something was trying to stop us.

Prophetic Lives Are Targeted Early

I believe her. And I believe I know what it was. Prophetic lives — lives with genuine callings that will threaten the kingdom of darkness — are identified and targeted early. The enemy is not passive. He is not reactive. He is strategic, and he is organized, and he reads assignments. He knew what I was called to before I did. And he moved against it from my first breath. From there, the attacks came through the people who were supposed to be my covering. My biological father was a violent, unstable man connected to darkness. The atmosphere of my earliest years was chaos and fear — the exact environment the enemy needs to begin building strongholds in a child’s life.

The God Who Appeared at the Edge of Hell

Before I continue with my own journey, I have to tell you what happened to my stepfather. Because what God did for him is inseparable from what God was doing for me. The doctors told the family he was going to die the next day. A man who had consumed dangerous amounts of alcohol every single day was now in the ICU, and medicine had done what it could do. His sister Bonnie was called in. She was a believer. And what happened when she arrived at that hospital was not natural. In the lobby, she encountered what I believe was an angel. The interaction was brief — but it was the beginning of something that continued up the elevator to the ICU floor. Because Jesus met her at the elevator. He walked with her. And as they walked, He told her the exact prayer to pray when she entered that room. She walked in and prayed what she had been given. I was in that room. And I saw something I have never seen before or since — a blue light. Not a normal light. Something multidimensional, present in that space in a way that had no natural explanation. The atmosphere of the room was not the atmosphere of a dying man’s ICU suite. Something else was there.

Why I Wrote This

I am telling you my story because you need to know who is talking to you. When I tell you that the enemy plants people in your life, I know what I am talking about. When I tell you that coordinated spiritual warfare is real, I have lived it. But more than that — when I tell you that God is greater, that He redeems every chapter, that He turns the weapon around — I know that too. From the inside. From the ground that cost me everything before I understood what I was dealing with. That is why Unseen War exists. Not to frighten you. To arm you. To give you the language, the discernment, and the tools I wish I had years ago.
